Academic interests...

I'm currently studying postcolonial literature, focusing on the use of language in New Zealand writing, and my dissertation will be on the link between archaeology and crime fiction. I have enjoyed all aspects of the course so far!

What I wish I'd known before my Oxbridge interviews...

I wish I'd been told that everyone reaches a point where they feel as if they can't answer the question. It doesn't matter if you don't have a response for everything as long as you remain calm and remember that the interviewers aren't expecting you to know every answer.

Extra-curricular interests...

My main extra-curricular interests are drama and creative writing. In First Year I was in the Worcester College Garden Play, 'Much Ado About Nothing', and last year I acted in university-wide productions of 'Top Girls' and 'Little Eyolf'. I'm also the Editor of Oxford University Poetry Society's magazine, the ASH, and Deputy Features Editor for The Oxford Student.

Previous interviewing and tutoring experience

I have tutored three Year 11 students in English Language and Literature, all of whom gained 8 and 9 grades in their GCSEs.

"It was very helpful to see which parts of my PS I perhaps need to look over and to think about a different perspective to things I had written."
